OSHKOSH, Wis., June 3 () -- Oshkosh Defense has received a $192 million contract from the U.S. Marine Corps for a fleet of P-19 Replacement Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicles.The vehicles, which are to replace the Marines' aging P-19 ARFF vehicles, will be the Marines' first-response vehicle in aircraft fire emergencies."Oshkosh has been supporting the P-19 ARFF fleet for more than 30 years,[url=http://www.godsdrama.com/]true religion men[/url], and we are honored that the U.S. Marine Corps has selected Oshkosh to provide a new generation of emergency response capabilities," said John Urias, Oshkosh Corp. executive vice president and president of Oshkosh Defense. The company said the P-19R is based on its Oshkosh Logistics Vehicle System Replacement platform that supports the Marine Corps' off-road, heavy-payload missions and the technologically advanced Striker firefighting systems from Oshkosh Airport Products.It features the company's TAK-4 independent suspension, integrated diagnostics and automation system.The number of vehicles ordered was not disclosed but Oshkosh said work under the contract is expected to be completed by May 2018. |
