New radio enhances air-ground communications
MELBOURNE,cheap christian louboutin, Fla., Sept. 11 () -- Harris Corp. has launched a new tactical radio to enhance air and ground communications in joint operations by international forces. The new product, the RF-7850A Airborne Networking Mission Radio, delivers secure voice and wideband data communications for ground-to-air missions such as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, close-air support, and border patrol. "The RF-7850A will allow international forces on the ground and in aircraft to exchange real-time information through interoperable voice, video, images and other ISR applications," said Brendan O'Connell, president, International Business, Harris RF Communications. "With more information in hand, air crews will be able to respond quickly and appropriately, resulting in improved mission success." Harris Corp. said the RF-7850A comes with a user interface and embedded applications. It is fully interoperable with all Harris Falcon II and Falcon III radios and wideband radios such as the company's RF-7800M. The RF-7850A also includes the Harris Adaptive Networking Wideband Waveform and the new Time Division Multiple Access Networking Waveform for wideband networking. The system comes in two configurations: the RF-7850A-UA single-channel radio for use with unmanned aerial systems for rapid data transmission to other airborne and ground forces, and the RF-7850A-MR, a multi-band dual-channel radio for use in helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.
