Publix Super Markets recalls salads that may be tainted with Listeria
WASHINGTON, March 30 () -- Publix Super Markets issued a voluntary recall for its Deli Tri Fruit and Grain Salad since it may be tainted by Listeria, U.S. officials say. Publix received notification of the potential contamination from its supplier, Allison's Gourmet Kitchens. Publix Deli Tri Fruit and Grain Salad, UPC # 41415-39662, was distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. The product was sold in prepackaged 12-ounce containers, and this recall involves all packages sold from December through this past Tuesday."Consumption of products containing Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infection in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
