January 2008 Birth Club,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
Gianni has been wearing a 9 in sandals and sneakers all summer and they are getting small. I usually go to stride rite and get one pair of "good shoes" for when we go somewhere and then a cheaper pair for playing outside etc. He usually goes up at least a half a shoe size every six months, sometimes a whole shoe size, just depends. Try finding a shoe store that has a discount coupon or a buy one, get one half off. I always buy things on sale,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], never full price. We usually hit up the stride rite outlet about 45 minutes from our house.
Thanks! We're going to the Sketchers outlet store (I only wear Sketchers). Stride Rite USED TO BE be trained salespeople who knew how to properly fit a kid PLUS quality shoes worth paying for. My mother used ONE Stride Rite store for all her kids, then Grandkids (she's moved since then). She and every older generation person I know SWEARS BY THEM. However,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I think times have changed and they're not the same. Totally not worth it at all. The 2 Stride Rite store here SUCK BIG TIME. I would not even waste my time going into the store. Anyone locally with young kids happens to agree with me. Maybe it's just the local stores here that suck - but their boys shoes are definitely ugly - that's not a local thing at all.
I can never seem to figure out how fast my DD will grow, what size ANYTHING to buy her so it will fit for an entire season. I just got all 3T clothes for fall/winter and I have this feeling that I will have to buy some 4T things before the cold weather is over. Arg! for shoes, I always try not to buy them way too big. I just got her some Nike sneakers at Kohls for $30.00. That's about the highest price I would buy for her. No way I would spend $50. No way. I'm thinking they will fit all winter (size 9). She wore size 8 all summer. It seems her growing has slown down a lot and these sneakers have a little bit of extra room in them, but too much.
DS is between sizes now (9-10) My ODS wants those sketchers also but I too dont feel like spending $50 on them even though I know YDS could wear them when he grows out of them. It feels like Im contantly buying new shoes (for ODS that is since they look hardley worn we pass them on to YDS) Both of mine prefer sandles but rather go barefooted. I think I buy new shoes twice a year. ONce in the spring summer months then again for fall and winter. I usually go to payless,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], walmart/target,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and sometimes belks or jcpennys if they are having a good sale. I just cant bring myself to pay the same price for kids shoes as mine would cost. Heck I dont even buy full priced shoes for myself. I used to do striderite but then they started growing so fast I stoped paying those prices even with a good sale they were still a little more than I cared to pay.
dd is in a 7 and that is a little big. I paid $75 for a pair of pumas for her. she has NO arch and the people at the stride right store were acting like turds every time we go in there. So i went to a special shoe store,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they suggested the Pumas because they have a strong arch, not just a high arch. So I went home did some research and sure enough Pumas are it. I have noticed that she isnt tripping as much when she wears them.
My LO is wearing 8 and it seems that she is been wearing them for the longest time. I have two size nines in the closet and I bring them out every now and then to try them on and realize, they are still too big. She started ballet lessons last February and she has size 8 slippers. I got her the 9 for this new season,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but they are still too big she is still using her size 8 slippers. So its been a good 8 months since she has needed new shoes for reasons of size change.
I do have to get new ones still, because she scratches them,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and they look destroyed in a matter of a few months,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], specially her sneakers.
