India's company suspends telegrams, but technology is still used

India's state-run telegram service suspended its operations Sunday, but customers are still able to send telegrams through many other companies. The costs are rather high, Time magazine said, and the telegrams must be ordered by phone or online, but the service is still available. Time's report came after Huffington Post and USA Today reported that India's suspension of its telegram service would result in the last time the technology would ever be used. But executives told MS News that telegraph businesses are booming in some areas, and it remains possible to send and receive a telegram in India or elsewhere.
